Today we start with Simple Solutions, weekly series of posts serving as a reminder about simple and effective technologies that can be used in production automation.
This week’s topic is Infrared Temperature Sensor.
In many production processes, the temperature of a product is a big factor affecting the outcome of the process and, thus, the quality of the output. Contactless measurements are faster, cheaper, more hygienic and less prone to maintenance.
By using an infrared (IR) temperature sensor, it is possible to measure the temperature of an object without the need of a physical contact. This means less moving parts and less potential for germs spreading. It is an especially useful tool for food production and processing plants and medical industry sites.
